Week 4 - Vision

Game vision:
Last week we worked more on the aesthetic and overall vision for the final game. We got some good feedback for a little tutorial section and will add a tunnel and small driving test to help explain the story and mechanics through gameplay.
I think our vision is just to create a simple, friendly looking, quirky driving game where you explore the city and see how fast you can do the delivery routes, with some interactive elements. I'd like to add more mechanics to make it replayable rather than a one-and-done.

Updates:

If we have time I'd like to try add some upgrades and random drop-off points to make the player go to different areas.
I added a few ramps and interactable objects that cause the car to be launched into the air. It gives more verticality to the map and allows players to get on the building roofs, or even through certain windows into different buildings. I added a bridge as well to give the impression of life to the map and some vertical areas to explore.

We're currently working on some drawings of the overall map layout to give it more structure. We want the player to go through a mini-tutorial segment and then straight into the game.

I added some cars that cause you to lose boxes if you crash into them. You simply transform the position += transform.forward * speed * time, and there's a collider which respawns them once they hit it.
I'd like to add more roads and hazards which will really make it feel like a proper game.

Aesthetic:

We want it to be cartoony with simple materials and image textures for the models. Once the final map drawings are finished, we plan on adding roads and pavements that cover the floor. It just looks better than one flat gray box.
